Retro Compass & Compass Rose Animated Cursor

Every screen deserves a heading. This animated custom cursor is a brass pocket compass, cream face, cardinal letters around the rim, and a needle that drifts off north and swings back like it is finding its bearings on a rolling deck. The mouse pointer is its own subject here: a flat compass rose, an eight-point star with a red N, straight from the corner of an old sea chart. Fun fact: the star shape is called a rose because its points fan out like petals. On the oldest charts it began as a wind rose, marking the named winds Mediterranean sailors steered by. 🌬️
