GOOD TO KNOW
A few helpful things before you jump into the fun.
-
WHAT BROWSERS WON’T LET EXTENSIONS DO
All Chromium browsers (Chrome, Edge, Opera, Brave, etc.) block extensions from working on internal system pages like New Tab, Settings, Downloads, Extensions, and similar areas.
They also don’t allow extensions to run on the Chrome Web Store pages — this is a strict browser policy for all Chromium-based browsers.Nothing we can do — browser rules are browser rules.
-
WHERE CUSTOM CURSORS CAN’T GO
Custom cursors can’t appear on browser UI parts: tabs, the URL bar, the toolbar, menus… basically anything that belongs to the browser itself. -
IF SOME TABS DON’T SHOW YOUR CURSOR
If certain tabs were already open before you installed Sweezy Cursors, you might still see your old cursor on them.

To help you get started, we’ve also created a short video tutorial:
CAN I USE A GIF AS AN ANIMATED CURSOR?
Technically, yes — you can upload a GIF.
However, due to limitations in Chrome, Edge, Opera, and all other Chromium-based browsers,
only the first frame of the GIF will be displayed.
This means the cursor will appear as a static image rather than animated.
We know animation is important to many users, and we’re actively exploring better solutions for the future.

CURSOR DOESN’T CHANGE ON SOME WEBSITES OR PAGES

Everything you need to customize your Windows cursor
BEFORE YOU START
Quick heads-up! A few things to know before you start customizing your Windows cursor.
-
WINDOWS SUPPORTS ONLY CUR AND ANI FILES
Windows uses two native cursor formats:CUR for static cursors and ANI for animated ones. All cursor files on our website use these formats and work perfectly on Windows. -
ALL FILES ON SWEEZY CURSORS ARE 100% SAFE
No installers, no software, no hidden scripts — just clean cursor files. We’ve been building safe customizations for years and have a large community that trusts us. -
WHAT CURSOR ROLES ARE INCLUDED IN EACH SWEEZY PACK
On Sweezy Cursors, you can download two main cursor types that are used most often:• Normal Select — your primary arrow cursor• Link Select — the cursor that appears when hovering over linksThese two types are included in every cursor pack because Sweezy was originally created for browser customization — and they’re the ones that deliver the biggest visual impact. But!If you want to go deeper and customize more Windows cursor roles, you’re completely free to do so.You can download any additional cursor art from our collections and manually assign it to other Windows cursor states (Busy, Text Select, Resize, and so on).Your Windows — your universe ✨Our cursors — your tools.Mix, match, experiment, and build a unique setup as detailed and expressive as you want. -
STORE YOUR CURSORS IN ONE FOLDER
To avoid Windows resetting your cursor theme, keep all CUR/ANI files in a permanent folder, for example:C:\Users\YourName\Documents\Sweezy Cursors\ -
CURSOR SIZE CHANGES CAN RESET YOUR THEME
Windows may reset your custom cursors if you change the cursor size afterward.Later in this guide, we’ll show you the correct order to avoid this issue.
