Steampunk Gears & Mechanical Hand Cursor
Brass rivets down the spine, a pressure gauge sitting at the base, copper pipe running the full length like the arrow is plumbed. The gears sit exposed on purpose: nothing here is decorative, it is all load-bearing. And the pointer is its own machine, a machinist's hand in clockwork brass, raised like it is about to pull a lever. Point it anywhere and the whole desktop runs on steam pressure ⚙️
Fun fact: steampunk got its name in 1987, when author K.W. Jeter half-joked in a letter to Locus magazine that Victorian tech fiction needed a label to match cyberpunk.
