Pixel Arrow & Hand Wonderland Animated Cursor
Checkers on a mouse cursor, and it absolutely works. The arrow is tiled in black and white squares under a thick red outline that reads like piping, and on the loop the tiles trade shades one by one while a stray red pixel slips along the edge. The pointer hand gets the same full board, so neither half of the pair feels like an afterthought.
Fun fact: the checkerboard runs deep in Wonderland. Lewis Carroll built Through the Looking-Glass as an actual chess game, printing "White Pawn (Alice) to play and win in eleven moves" before chapter one even starts ♟️
